Sir Thomas Wingfield (II), 2nd son of Sir John Wingfield (II) of Wingfield. Died 1378, buried at Letheringham. Will proved NCC, 1378. Married Married Margaret, widow of Sir Wiiliam Carbonell of Badingham and daughter and heir of Sir Wyllyam Bovell (Bovill) of Letheringham, Hoo and Dallinghoo.

Sir John Wingfield (IV) of Letheringham. Son of the above. Died 1389, buried at Letheringham. Will registered 1391/2. Married Margaret, daughter of Sir Hugh Hastings of Elsing, Norfolk. She remarried (as his 2nd wife) Sir John Russell of Strensham, Worcestershire, Master of the King’s Horse (1391– 98). She was buried at Letheringham. Will of Margaret Russell, proved NCC 1396 [sic].

Sir Robert Wingfield (II) of Letheringham. Son of the above. Died 1409, buried at Letheringham. Married Elizabeth, daughter of Sir JohnRussell of Strensham, Worcestershire.

Sir Robert Wingfield (III) of Letheringham. Son of the above. Died 1454, buried at Letheringham. Will proved PCC 1454. Married Elizabeth, daughter and heir of Sir Robert Gowsell of Hoveringham, Nottinghamshire.

Sir John Wingfield (VI) of Letheringham (1428–1481). Son of the above. Will in SROI, HA30:50/22/1.8(16). Married, by 1457, Elizabeth FitzLewis, daughter of Sir John ffitz Lewys of West Horndon, Dunton, Ingrave and Cranham, Essex. Her will proved NCC 1500.

Sir John Wingfield (VII) of Letheringham. Son of the above. Died 1509. Married Anne, daughter of John Touchet, 6th Lord Audley.

Sir Anthony Wingfield (I) of Letheringham. Son of the above. Born by 1488, died 1552. Will proved PCC1553. Married by 1520, Elizabeth Vere, sister and co-heiress of John Vere, 13th Earl of Oxford.

Sir Robert Wingfield (VI) of Letheringham. Son of the above. Died 1596. Will proved PCC 1596. Married 1stly, Cicely Wentworth, daughter of Thomas Thomas, 1st Lord Wentworth.

Sir Anthony Wingfield (II) of Godwins in Hoo. Son of the above. Died 1605, buried at Letheringham. Will proved PCC 1606. Married Ann Bird, no children.

Sir Thomas Wingfield (V) of Letheringham. Brother of the above. Died 1610, buried at Letheringham. Will proved PCC 1610. Married 2ndly, 1601, Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Drue Drury of Riddlesworth, Norfolk and Linstead, Kent.

Sir Anthony Wingfield (III), 1st Bart., of Godwins in Hoo (c. 1600 –1638. Son of the above. He is said to ‘removed from Letheringham, pulled down most of the house at Hoo, and erected a new one near Easton church called the White House’.[1] Married Anne, daughter of Sir John Deane of Deane’s Hall, Essex. Her will proved PCC 1642.

Sir Richard Wingfield, 2nd Bart., of Letheringham and Easton. Son of the above. Died c. 1656. Married 1stly, Susannah, daughter of Sir John Jakob, Bart. of Bromley, Middlesex; he married 2ndly Mary, daughter of Sir John Wintour of Lydney, Gloucestershire.

Sir Robert Wingfield, (VIII) 3rd Bart. of the White House, Easton. Son of the above by his first wife. Died ‘beyond sea’, a minor and unmarried. PCC probate inventory 1671.

Sir Henry Wingfield, 4th Bart. Son of Sir Richard Wingfield by his second wife. Died 1677 in Lorraine. Married Lady Eleanor Touchet, daughter of Mervyn Touchet, 2nd Earl of Castlehaven.

Sir Henry Wingfield, 5th Bart. Son of the above. Sold Letheringham and followed King James on his abdication in 1688. Died without issue ‘beyond sea’ in 1712.
